Climate Change & Community Resilience (SDG 13)

We Care Foundation is actively working to advance Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 13: Climate Action, focusing on the climate-vulnerable districts of Badin, Thatta, and Sujawal in Sindh.

In response to recurring floods, extreme weather events, and environmental degradation, the Foundation implements community-based climate adaptation and resilience initiatives. These include the plantation of 3,400 trees in flood-affected and degraded areas to reduce carbon emissions, prevent soil erosion, and restore biodiversity.

We Care Foundation places strong emphasis on awareness raising and community engagement. Regular climate change awareness sessions, focus group discussions (FGDs) with community members, women, and youth, and advocacy activities are conducted to promote climate-smart practices, disaster preparedness, and sustainable use of natural resources.

Through local-level advocacy and stakeholder engagement, the Foundation works to amplify community voices and support inclusive, climate-responsive planning. We firmly believe that effective climate action requires both environmental protection and community resilience, enabling vulnerable populations to adapt, reduce risks, and secure sustainable livelihoods for the future
